Originally from Houston, Texas, Rhonda Clark has a degree from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in educational counseling from Capella University. Initially working in technology, Rhonda later worked at a major hospital as the Administrator for the hospital social workers, doing so for several years.

 

Dennis Clark is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and attended the University of Pittsburgh.  His business career started with IBM, working there for 10 years. He later worked for Toshiba America for 2 years and then for Hewlett Packard for 20 years, primarily working in sales, sales management and worldwide operations. His business career has provided him the luxury of living and visiting many cities both domestic and abroad. In his opinion, Columbus, OH is one of the best locations to live, work and raise a family.

 

How did you learn about the brand?

We knew that we wanted to own our own business and so we began looking at a number of premier business opportunities. As we got older, we knew that there was a great need for this type of business in our community and we began our due diligence process.

 

Why did you choose an opportunity with Right at Home?

After looking at the top three companies in the industry, we felt that Right at Home was the best opportunity for us. We aligned ourselves well with their core values and how they bring solutions to the marketplace.

 

What makes your business unique in the community?

One of the things that really makes Right at Home unique is our high standards for the people that we hire. Everybody that works in our office is committed to bringing the best value to our employees – we will do whatever is necessary to give the greatest experience to our clients.

 

Have you been personally affected by the senior homecare industry?

Dennis: My mother became ill and ended up having to live with my sister. There is a lot of emotional wear and tear on a family member caregiver, and although it can be rewarding,  it can also be extremely exhausting. We really wanted to provide a solution to those providing services to family members in the community because as I got older I saw more and more people supporting their family members and knew that one day I could also need that attention and care.

 

Are you involved with any charities or do any community outreach with your business?

We do a lot of hospice volunteer work throughout the community.

 

What challenges have you overcome to get where you are now?

The greatest challenge we see is that home care is such a dynamic industry. The companies that pop up thinking that this is a “get rich quick” industry and have no sustaining power will open and close immediately. Our policy is that you’ll never get rich if you’re just seeking money. The community really suffers when these businesses pop up so we’ve made it our goal to help the community as much as possible.

 

What are your expansion or development plans? What is your end goal with Right at Home?

Our expansion plans are to continue to grow the business throughout our territory. We have a large territory so there is a lot of potential. We are looking to be considered the number one in-home care givers in the greater Columbus market.

 

Do you have any other interesting hobbies or passions?

Rhonda loves to travel, warm weather and the beach! Coming from Houston she needs sunlight. While, Dennis enjoys playing golf as much as possible. During the spring and summer months they travel often as they have a teenage son who plays on a national AAU travel basketball schedule.
