Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I was born in Clarksdale and have lived in Mississippi all my life.
Q: How did you learn about Right at Home?
A: Before learning about Right at Home, I worked at Sysco of Memphis in Mississippi for about ten years, working in the sales and management departments. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, so I started looking into franchising. I did a lot of research on FranChoice, looking for an industry that would be the right fit for me. I knew I wanted to work in an industry that would bring something new to an area and a great service to the community. I had interest in working in the home care industry, because I had personal experience with it in my own life. 14 years ago, my father passed away from lung cancer, so while he was ill we had caregivers in his home 24 hours a day. So I began researching on my own, and spoke with several competitors. I really connected with Right at Home and felt that they really cared about both their franchisees and the patients that we work with. They were very genuine and I knew would give me the support I needed in this business. I spent several months talking to multiple franchisees, who all had positive things to say about Right at Home, so I knew this was the company that I wanted to be with
Q: What was most appealing to you about joining a franchise system as opposed to starting your own business?
A: Franchises like Right at Home have a tried and true method. They know how to make a business successful and as long as you’re putting forth the effort, you’ll be on the fast track to success. They have established a system that works, so you don’t have to do guess work.
Q: What did you find most appealing about senior care? Why did you decide to enter this industry?
A: Besides my personal experience with the senior care industry, I also really want to be able to give back and do something positive in my area. I’m very involved in the community and have a lot of involvement in community service in my area – I was actually named one of the top 20 volunteers in Mississippi recently. My years working in this service and being involved in my community has helped me network and get to know the community.
What did you see as the Right at Home competitive advantage in your area?
A: We go the extra mile. We go above and beyond what is required by the state to ensure that our clients are 100% satisfied. We are also home owned and operated and much more hands on than our competitors.
Q: What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun? What activities do you enjoy on weekends?
A: I love to play golf, and attend sporting events for Delta State, which is the college I attended.
