The value and importance of family have been emphasized to Beau Green for as long as he can remember. Since the age of ten, Beau remembers watching his mother care for elderly relatives, instilling in Beau a desire for a career that makes a difference in the lives of others. In October, at the age of 30, Beau opened Right at Home in Vestavia Hills, making him the youngest franchisee in the system.

Where are you from?

Owensboro, KY. I come from a family of entrepreneurs. We had four hotels, restaurants, an automobile dealership, a construction company, and a coal company.  I saw all that and knew that I wanted to have my own business.

What made you decide to get into healthcare?

We know there are people in the community that have needs and we want to help them.  Elderly people want to live independently in their own homes as long as possible.  Right at Home helps them do just that.  We also serve people who just had surgery and need a little assistance.  I am committed to this for the long term and believe with our aging population the needs are going to continue to increase.

Why did you choose to invest in Right at Home?

I considered doing this on my own, but Right at Home provides extensive training, tools, and resources that are extremely helpful which will enable me to better serve our clients. I looked at more than 30 franchises, did my research, and Right at Home stood out.

What are some achievements (personally or professionally that you think will help you along the way in your business?

I have a wide range of experience that can all translate into operating a successful business.  I was an all-state basketball player in high school and played in college under legendary coaches Denny Crum and Rick Pitino. I understand a playbook and how to follow a system.   Since graduating from college, I have owned a successful small business and been a sales representative for a Fortune 500 company.

What are your expansion or development plans?

I would love to grow my business in the area. This is our home. We want to serve the market we have first, but our long-term goal is to expand in the region.  My in-laws are from the area and have served the Birmingham community in ministry. My wife’s grandparents are Rev. Frank and Barbara Barker.

ABOUT RIGHT AT HOME

Right at Home was founded in 1995 by Allen Hager in Omaha, Nebraska. Unlike any other home care franchisor, Allen’s background was in hospital administration. He witnessed older patients check out of the hospital, struggle with the recovery process while at home, and then be readmitted to the hospital. Seeing the need, he created a way to provide ongoing assistance for clients who are aging or have disabilities in the comfort of their homes. After spending five years fine-tuning the business model, the Right at Home franchise was born! For more information about Right at Home, visit www.rightathome.net.
