Adding to their list of accomplishments, Todd and Monica Daigneault are starting a new career as Right at Home franchisees in The Woodlands.
While earning her bachelor’s degree in business management from Wesley College, which she received within three years, Monica worked diligently in the real estate industry. During this time, she met her future husband, Todd Daigneault, who received his MBA in transportation and logistics management from Wilmington University.
With prior experience as an elderly safety monitor with Nyack Hospital and as a real estate agent in New York, Monica decided to relocate to Dover, Delaware, to begin a career with Blind Industries & Services of Maryland on Dover Air Force Base (AFB) as a procurement manager and eventually an e-commerce manager. Todd’s career included more than 20 years in the United States Air Force before the couple relocated to Dallas so he could work at MAPEI Americas. After two years of living in Dallas, they decided they wanted to move back east where Todd found a job with WESCO Distribution, Inc. as lead coach and mentor for 450 warehouses across the continental U.S. and Canada.
After a year of living back on the East Coast, and with their family continuing to grow, Todd and Monica realized Texas made an impression on them, and they chose to move back to the Lone Star State. As a dedicated mother of two children and involved community member, Monica decided to become a business owner. Monica and her husband began researching different franchises and realized the high demand for senior care in the area. Monica’s desire to own a business that truly contributed to the community aligned perfectly with Right at Home. Before they knew it, Todd and Monica were signing on as the newest franchisees for Right at Home.
In addition to their accomplishment of becoming new business owners, Todd was also nominated as one of the United States Air Force’s “Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year.”
How did you find out about Right at Home?
Monica: We were ready to start our own business and Todd began researching different opportunities. When we realized how high the demand for senior care was, we narrowed our search and from there everything else fell into place.
Why did you choose an opportunity with Right at Home?
The location was a factor, but we chose Right at Home because we felt so in sync with their goals and values. Plus, we saw the potential for expansion.
What personal experience do you have in your own family with caring for a senior?
Monica: Throughout my life, I have been dedicated to being a caregiver for not only my great-grandmother and grandmother but to a dear friend’s mother as well. I was blessed to be able to be a companion and an aide, and to provide personal care during the difficult times. I assisted with feeding, toileting, bathing, and recorded medication activity. But most importantly, I was there to administer compassion during their final days.
Todd: I medically transferred from Andersen AFB in Guam to Dover AFB to care for my 54-year-old mother who was diagnosed with stage-four cancer. I performed daily care duties, which included transportation to and from the medical facility, bathing, close-contact lifting, feeding, comfort and hospice coordination, and facilitation with family members. I also experienced my father’s end-of-life battle with cancer when I also provided assistance with bathing, feeding and his day-to-day activities.

Monica: I really love being as involved as I can. Some of the organizations I previously and currently volunteer for include Nyack Hospital in Nyack, New York, in elderly safety monitor quality check; my children’s schools in The Woodlands, Texas, as a room parent; The Woodlands United Methodist Church – Loft Campus in The Woodlands, Texas; The American Heart Association – The Woodlands, Texas, on the Heart Ball Committee; Angel Reach in Conroe, Texas, as a mentor for young adults; and Casa De Esperanza in Houston, Texas, where I raised money for the organization by running a marathon.
