Description

Right at Home supports franchisee success after opening their doors for business and beyond. Listen as Emily Undajon, VP of Strategic Operations, and Jen Chaney, VP of Franchise Development, discuss various levels and types of support franchisees receive from Business Performance Coaches when it comes to hiring, training, best practices, and operations.

Business Performance Coach

Upon opening your franchise, you will be assigned one of six Business Performance coaches. They are the key conduits in helping you operate your franchise and in keeping you connected to all the subject matter experts at the corporate office.

Staffing The Office

Office Staff Framework is a program your Business Performance Coach will walk you through that provides recommendations and guidance on who to surround yourself with in your office. It is a toolkit of draft job descriptions, onboarding plans, and performance management, customized to the role you’re needing.

Online Marketing Specialists

Online Marketing Specialists (OMS) assist franchisee owners with online marketing by being able to get the word out on what your team is doing in the community. If you are hosting continuing education in senior communities or participated in the Parkinson’s Walk and want to post pictures to your website, the OMS can get that information uploaded to a blog post or social media page.

Establishing Employee Benefits

The Employee Experience Team can assist in providing recommendations for Employee Benefits, but ultimately you will make your own decision on what you want to offer. Our team can provide hiring guides, and we encourage you to meet your nearby fellow franchisees and perhaps discuss what has or hasn’t worked for them.

The Success Team

Right at Home has a Success Team that sets you up with best practices and great operational software to drive your business to the highest operational efficiency.

Long-Term Success

We work with our tenured franchisees in building a strategic business plan and want our owners to be able to scale their operations from 1 million to 3 million, 3 million to 7 million, and so on. A Strategic Leadership Council is formed from franchisees elected and appointed to partner with Corporate on strategy. Franchisee’s data is also entered into a strategic business plan framework that helps drive accountability, provides breakeven and SWOT analysis, and assists in getting your team to reach their goals. Franchise owners are also encouraged to join Performance Groups. The groups are made up of 8-12 franchisee members and meet once a quarter, performing financial acumen training, and discussing metrics on where they’re succeeding and what they could be doing better. Burning issues are discussed and group feedback is provided on how to overcome the issue.

Performance Group Requirements

Franchise owners must be in business for at least one year before and have also completed the Profit Mastery training before they can join a Performance Group.

Benchmarks

There are two dashboards that a franchisee can review. RightFocus benchmarks your individual office against goals and ranges to help you achieve your goal. There is also a Performance Group dashboard where you can compare yourself to other members of your group.

Performance Group Membership

There are currently 11 groups consisting of 110 franchisees. Texas and California have their own groups as they are both highly regulated. The other nine groups are geographically dispersed with various revenue sizes, office sizes, and/or territory counts. The diverse groups have seen great success.

Expanding Your Territory

If you have an interest in expanding, your business performance coach will work with you on whether you want to buy a new territory or purchase a nearby existing business. The current market share, benchmarks, and quality of your business will be reviewed. Then a formal business plan will need to be submitted. We will review with you to understand if you are planning a second office and staffing. We never want to see you shift priority and have your existing business suffer.

Annual Home Improvement Conference

Other franchisees describe this as a “can’t miss it” opportunity. Franchisees and their staff can collaborate, recharge, listen to keynote speakers, and sit in on learning tracks on relevant subject matter. A vendor hall is available, and corporate team members are onsite to engage and interact.

Resale vs New Territory

Buying a Resale vs a New Territory are different skill sets. Taking over an existing business and driving a change in management versus executing a new territory where everything is new. You need to figure out what speaks to you the most and the right opportunity for you individually. But Right at Home will be there to help and support you in starting your franchise business.
